Across America, polarization has strained relationships between family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Today, an estimated 20–25% of families are grappling with deep divides or even estrangement over political and cultural differences. This RAFT for America trip is an invitation to step away from our screens and out of our echo chambers into real action. Paddle together to a place of understanding and rebuild bonds with the people who matter the most.

RAFT  (Reuniting America by Fostering Trust) continues its 2025 series of events on August 24 on the Nantahala River in Bryson City, North Carolina.  Experience the Nantahala Gorge while white water rafting down crystal clear water through rapids and bouncy waves surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Team Democracy has engaged award-winning filmmaker, Kristi Kendall, to produce a video from the Nanatahala River RAFT event that will be shared widely across the community, and across social and traditional media outlets.
